microsoft office word

Microsoft Word is a commercial word processor designed by Microsoft. It was first released in 1983 under the name Multi-Tool Word for Xenix systems.[1][2][3] Subsequent versions were later written for several other platforms including IBM PCs running DOS (1983), the Apple Macintosh (1984), the AT&T Unix PC (1985), Atari ST (1986), SCO UNIX, OS/2, and Microsoft Windows (1989). It is a component of the Microsoft Office software system; it is also sold as a standalone product and included in Microsoft Works Suite. The current versions are Microsoft Word 2010 for Windows and 2011 for Mac.

At the very top of microsoft 2007 there is a blue line called a Ribbon The Ribbon in Microsoft Office consists of all the tools that you will need when using, creating or editing your document in Microsoft Office like borders, fronts, reviews, and much more. It is also well organized into many groups where each deal's with a specific function. This organization really helps me in speeding up work so i don't have to look everywhere.
The dialog Box Luncher is the tiny icon in some of the ribbon groups. The icon is displayed on the right side of the group name. If you look carefully at the bottom right of many groups, there is a small control called the dialog box launcher. Clicking on this will display a dialog box containing all the options available for that group and this is where advance stuff is done or if the function you are looking for is simply not shown in the group at first.
Styles are different format for a document and can greatly improve the appearance and readability of your document.

typing

Typing is the process of inputting text into a device, such as a typewriter, cell phone, computer, or a calculator, by pressing keys on a keyboard. It can be distinguished from other means of input, such as the use of pointing devices like the computer mouse, and text input via speech recognition.

The center of all that we do on a standard keyboard is the row of keys starting with the letter "a" and ending with the apostrophe. This row forms the center of the three rows of letters, and the keys in this row are known as the "home keys".

some of us is using their 2 fingers in typing, using our 2 fingers in typing is wrong. it should be our 10 fingers....

The Proper Position

Whenever you type, place your forefingers on F and J. These keys are marked by little bars or small dents on most keyboards (red dots in figure below). The other fingers go on the keys on the left resp. right. After some time, your fingers will seek this position themselves. The thumb (choose one) is responsible for operating the space bar. (The other one does nothing, so it's actually only "typing with nine fingers", but we don't care.)

get faster in typing
At the beginning you will probably type slower than you used to, but you will notice that you get comfortable with the keyboard pretty fast. All you need to do is practice. As the saying goes " try and try until you succeed". I'm sure nothing will lose to you if you try harder to commit your goal, your goal to type faster

history of computers

Humans have always needed
to perform arithmetic like
counting and adding. During
the pre-historic period,
they counted either on their
fingers or by scratching
marks on the bones and
then with the help of stone,
pebble and beads. The early
civilization had witnessed
men develop number systems
to keep track of the
astronomical cycles, businesses, etc. The word
'computing' means 'an act of calculating'. Years passed
by, great inventors have invented electronic gadgets
and they have improvised the computers, some of us
now have already computers in their homes used for business and for assignments. And also laptops,
net pads ,and net book which I prefer the most for it's not heavy and it is portable.

Prehistoric man did not have the Internet, but it appears that he needed a way to count and make
calculations. The limitations of the human body’s ten fingers and ten toes apparently caused early
man to construct a tool to help with those calculations. Scientists now know that humankind
invented an early form of computers. Their clue was a bone carved with prime numbers found
in 8,500 BC.
The abacus was the next leap forward in computing between 1000 BC and 500 BD. This
apparatus used a series of moveable beads or rocks. The positions changed to enter a
number and again to perform mathematical operations. Leonardo DaVinci was credited
with the invention of the world’s first mechanical calculator in 1500. In 1642, Blaise Pascal’s
adding machine upstaged DaVinci’s marvel and moved computing forward again.
In 19th century England, Charles Babbage, a mathematician, proposed the construction
of a machine that he called the Babbage Difference Engine. It would not only calculate
numbers, it would also be capable of printing mathematical tables. The Computer History
Museum in Mountain View, CA (near San Diego) built a working replica from the original
drawings. Visitors can see in the device in operation there. Unable to construct the actual
device, he earned quite a few detractors among England’s literate citizens. However, Babbage
made a place for himself in history as the father of computing. Not satisfied with the machines
limitations, he drafted plans for the Babbage Analytical Engine. He intended for this computing
device to use punch cards as the control mechanism for calculations. This feature would make
it possible for his computer to use previously performed calculations in new ones.
Babbage’s idea caught the attention of Ada Byron Lovelace who had an undying passion for
math. She also saw possibilities that the Analytical Machine could produce graphics and music.
She helped Babbage move his project from idea to reality by documenting how the device
would calculate Bernoulli numbers. She later received recognition for writing the world’s first
computer program. The United States Department of Defense named a computer language in
her honor in 1979.
The computers that followed built on each previous success and improved it. In 1943, the
first programmable computer Turing COLOSSUS appeared. It was pressed into service to
decipher World War II coded messages from Germany. ENIAC, the brain, was the first
electronic computer, in 1946. In 1951, the U.S. Census Bureau became the first
government agency to buy a computer, UNIVAC .
The Apple expanded the use of computers to consumers in 1977. The IBM PC for
consumers followed closely in 1981, although IBM mainframes were in use by government and corporations.
  • 8,500 BC Bone carved with prime numbers found

  • 1642 Blaise Pascal’s invented adding machine, France
  • 1822 Charles Babbage drafted Babbage Difference Engine, England
  • 1835 Babbage Analytical Engine proposed, England
  • 1843 Ada Byron Lovelace computer program to calculate Bernoulli numbers, England
  • 1943 Turing COLOSSUS the first programmable computer, England
  • 1946 ENIAC first electronic computer, U.S.A.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP! ^_^

ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Our first topic in T.L.E. is all about entrepreneurship. An entrepreneur is a person who has possession of an new enterprise and is accountable for the inherit risk and the outcome.
When we studied entrepreneur ship the first thing that come to my mind was Anna Manalastas..^^..and btw the time that i have memorized the 19 PECs , I felt a little bit happy...^^.
